This GRI is in addition to the previous GRIs effective from 20th July 2024 and 29th July 2024 handovers. The new rates will apply to all containers handed over to MSC custody from 8th August 2024 onwards.

Effective July 1, 2024, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company will implement an Overweight Surcharge (OVW) of USD 300 per 20'FT container for cargo exceeding 21 metric tons. This surcharge applies to all container types, including SOC, SOT, Reefer, Open Top, and Flat Rack. This change aims to maintain high reliability and efficiency in MSC's services.

Maersk has announced revisions to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for several routes effective from July 8, 2024. The surcharge, applicable to shipments from the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent to the US and Canadian West Coast, will see an increase of $7000 for all dry and reefer containers.
The adjustment aims to sustain global services amid evolving market dynamics. Customers are advised to take note of these changes, which may be subject to future adjustments. Maersk assures customers of continued support and transparency in pricing structures.

Maersk issues a Customer Advisory notifying a Rate Increase effective from February 10, 2024, for shipments from Pakistan, Middle East & Indian Sub-Continent to North America (United States & Canada). The increase applies to all cargo types and various container sizes, with amounts as follows: USD 1000 for 20DRY, USD 1500 for 40DRY and 40HC, and USD 1500 for 45HC.
