Fee for diverting cargo from the original intended destination port to a new location.

Definition of Diversion
  • There may or may not be a change in the original billed destination, such as the Consignee and Order Party change.
  • Changing the consignee or order party alone would not constitute a diversion.
  • If the delivery port changes between Los Angeles, CA and Long Beach, CA, it will not be considered a diversion.
  • The final CY destination can be changed between Fargo, ND and Dilworth, MN, with no diversion being considered.
  • The shipper or consignee may request extended delivery if the cargo has been discharged according to the bill of lading.
  • Other than TPTWB and US to Australia/New Zealand: A change in delivery mode from CY to SDD at the destination point, if allowed by this tariff (Rule T-26) or by an individual service contract, does not constitute a diversion, as it is not subject to the provisions of this rule.
