An international convention for the simplification and harmonization of national customs procedures which was held in Kyoto in 1974. 114 customs administrations unanimously adopted the Kyoto Convention (updated and restructured) on 25th of June 1999. To make Customs authorities and traders more cooperative, the convention was restructured to integrate computerized controls.
