Break Bulk shipments are assessed on this basis. Also known as 'Worm.' This term occurs in a Bill of Lading to denote that the master and the carrier are unaware of the type and quantity of the contents, e.g. of a carton, crate, or container rely on the weight and/or measurement. The W/M is per kilogram or cubic foot in air freight - whichever is greater.
